Listens to ambient noise The Peltor ProTac has a built-in active-volume function that lets you hear ambient noises: conversation, machine sounds and warning signals. Soft sounds are amplified, so you hear them even better than you would without hearing protectors. Two microphones pick up ambient noises and reproduce them in full stereo, so you can tell what direction they come from. Sudden impulse noises at harmful levels are immediately attenuated. An electronic valve detects the noise and attenuates it to a harmless level. When the noise fades, the ProTac automatically goes back to the listening function. With the ProTac, you are not shut off from the environment, which can be both dangerous and inconvenient. You always hear what is going on around you, and you know that your hearing is protected. |
Easy and logical to use The control panel is on the right shell. The buttons are easily accessible and logically positioned. Ambient sound adjusts easily to four levels. Another feature is the power-saver function. If no buttons are pressed, the hearing protector switches off automatically after two hours, which eliminates the risk of wearing out the batteries due to forgetfulness. A warning signal is emitted when the battery is low. You can also connect the hearing protector to a telephone or communication radio, so you can always be reached while you work. The ProTac with speech microphone and a hands-free kit or separate adapter provides complete two-way communication. |

Greatest possible comfort You probably know that you have to protect your hearing when you are in an environment where the noise level exceeds 85 dB(A). Just a few minutes of carelessness per day can lead to permanent hearing loss. The ProTac is designed to be worn the entire working day.
Also available with neckband, if worn under helmet.
